Union Co. Master Gardeners present: The Birds and Bees of Gardening: Attracting Pollinators to Your Backyard

Doors open at 9:30am. Program from 10a-noon. The cost of the workshop is $5. Registration is required as space is limited. Please register by March 15. Call the Extension Office at 937-644-8117 to register. There will be featured speakers, a hands-on activity, door prizes, native plants for sale and light refreshments. Welcome the New Neighbors, the Pollinators, to Your Garden – Kay Covert, Master Gardener Volunteer, will take a brief look at the important role pollinators’ play. Design a Full Season of Blooms – Dixie Bowen, Master Garden Volunteer, will discuss the process of designing or supplementing a garden to attract and support pollinators. Use Native Plants to Create a Pollinator Haven – Linda Johnson, horticulture expert and co-owner, Scioto Gardens will share her expertise on using natives to create a well-rounded backyard oasis that fosters bees, butterflies, birds and other pollinators. Hands-on Activity – Create a bug hotel.
