Gardeners of all levels came together for a full day of learning in London, Ohio at the Madison County Garden Expo held Saturday April 1. Returning to Madison County after several years, it was sponsored by the Madison County Master Gardeners and OSU Extension Madison County.
Programs were given on growing giant pumpkins, the importance of pollinators to the food you put on your table, growing hosta, creating a thriving honeybee hive, rain gardens and building your own rain barrel.
The day included vendors selling plants, garden implements, fairy garden accessories and more. You could find out how to control those critters who venture into your yard by visiting the ODNR Division of Wildlife display, learn about the London farmers market, bike trail, 4H and who to call before you dig up your yard. The garden railroad exhibit was a treat for young and old.
The Ask a Master Gardener table was busy answering questions and children created fairy gardens and seed mosaics. Visitors included Master Gardeners from Licking, Fairfield, Franklin and Union counties.
