Ecuador Trip Ohio MGVs
Primary tabs
Adventuring in Ecuador, a country with 12 hours of sunlight year-round, has been experienced by over 50 Ohio Master Gardener Volunteers. Since 2013 Ohio MGVS have partnered with the Tandana Foundation to provide a working vacation in Otavalo and surrounding communities. The focus has been on cultivating trees, water remediation, education, planting, gardening and working side-by-side with locals to improve their communities. Activities are a mixture of work and cultural activities including touring, cooking classes, shopping, and more. Each year has been unique and a wonderful experience with a variety of jobs and cultural visits.
The trip will be Friday, February 3 through Saturday, February 11, 2017. Once in Quito, all lodging, meals, transportation, work activities and cultural activities are covered by the program fee. The entire cost including lodging (double occupancy) and program activities is $1,350. Each participant arranges their own airfare.
