To celebrate Ohio Master Gardener Volunteer Week, the Clark County Master Gardener Volunteers donated trees to its parks' district.
During Ohio Master Gardener Volunteer Week May 17-23, 2009, the Clark County Master Gardener Volunteers donated trees to its National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Security National Bank had sponsored a promotion for online banking customers giving them an opportunity to make a contribution to a local green industry/organization. For every dollar the bank's customers donated, the bank matched it. The Master Gardener Volunteers of Clark County were chosen to be the recipients of the project and the volunteers decided to give it back to the community in the form of trees. Now, one of the local parks that had experienced severe Hurricane "Ike" damage, has 15 new trees to help it recover. The Master Gardener Volunteers realize the value trees give to their community and enthusiastically support their city "Green and Growing," which was the focus for Master Gardener Volunteers of Clark County programs in 2009. |
